Vision
Engineering tools, reimagined for the modern era
Lumoship was founded to bring modern software practices to marine structural engineering. The maritime industry runs on decades-old workflows, custom Excel spreadsheets, and €30,000-per-year software licenses that small design offices cannot afford.
We believe engineers deserve better. Browser-based tools that work instantly. Class-compliant calculations they can trust. Fair pricing for individual practitioners and small teams. And software built by people who understand the domain.
What we're building
Twelve tools in four disciplines
The suite is organised in the same four disciplines as the products page. The tools are in development and open one by one during 2027, free until the end of that year.
Rule-Based Design
Class rules, applied and quoted. Midship Scantling designs the section to DNV and LR; LoadPoint gives the design loads at a point; PSM Opening Checker settles what may be cut from a primary member web; NR467 and NR615 bring Bureau Veritas local scantlings and buckling.
Structural Analysis
LumoStruct for grillages and frames — hatch covers, decks, bulkheads, double bottoms — BeamCore for single members, and SectionPro for the section properties behind them, all from one profile catalogue.
Drawing & Data
LumoCAD, a 2D drafting board in the browser that keeps AutoCAD habits and writes DXF and PDF; DXFTrace, which turns drawing layers into coordinate tables for the model.
3D Modeling & Production
LumoHull, a solid production model of the hull structure with pos numbers, welds and section drawings; LumoScript, which builds the structure in Rhino from frame numbers.

Multi-class compliance
Every check in Lumoship quotes the rule clause it comes from — DNV RU-SHIP, Lloyd’s Register and Bureau Veritas NR467 / NR615 — and is compared with reference software such as DNV Nauticus Hull and BV MARS before release.
